Countless Problems...
One Band...
And Three Girls Out For Revenge...
Bleeding Heart was formed in late November of the year 2005 by front woman Hannah Stewart for a Notre Dame Christmas Variety Show. Recruiting classmates Helen Pike for Bass Guitar and Thea Cunningham for drums, the three then 13 year old girls started to practice together. The young band played their first show of one song onstage in front of their whole school after being together for one month. The band played a variation of Green Day's American Idiot, with the same tune but with lyrics they changed to fit the Christmas theme. They were a success, and Bleeding Heart was born.

Practicing whenever they could, Bleeding Heart contacted Elaina Martin, the producer of WestFest, to inquire about playing at the festival. After sending her a requested demo CD, Martin contacted them back, impressed, and gave the band of 4 months a half hour spot on the WestFest Main Stage. The band was thrilled, as expected, to be playing their first real gig. They were even more astonished when they found out that not only were they the youngest artists to ever play on the WestFest Main Stage, but they were also the first ever amateur band to grace the stage. Playing shows at the Notre Dame School Oscars, Notre Dame Coffee House, and auditioning for the 25th Annual Stars On The Rise Youth Talent Show, Bleeding Heart prepared and improved for their upcoming half hour show. For their WestFest performance, Bleeding Heart played a 7 song set for approximately 200 people at 9:30 in the morning.

Loving the adreneline and power on stage, Bleeding Heart then contacted the Ottawa 2006 Super Ex to try to get a spot on one of their stages. Shortly after they found out that they had made it to the first round of Stars On The Rise, and were also given a gig of 45 minutes on the Ex's Pizza Pizza Stage for the same day. Although Bleeding Heart did not make it past the first round of Stars On The Rise, both shows went well and were accepted well by the audience. Bleeding Heart was then contacted by LadyFest and was asked to play in their festival for bands who are at least 50% female. At the LadyFest Show at End Hits, Bleeding Heart wowed the crowd with their first ever encore request and for the first time had fans moshing to their music. Bleeding Heart then, through the help of their friends in Wallix, signed up at Supernova.com and are schedualed to play at Supernova's Battle Of The Bands coming up in November, as well as an Ottawa Student Showcase Jam for high school bands. They auditioned for the OCCDSB Talent Show and were one of the 6 top 10 acts chosen in the semi-finals to continue into the finals on November 29th 2006.
